For the last 10 days or so of the season, banders were serenaded throughout the day by a wide variety of bird songs coming from all around the banding station.

The culprit:

Mockingbird Virtuoso

We grew quite attached to him! Here is the list we compiled of his repertoire:

  • Eastern Phoebe
  • Greater Yellowlegs
  • Killdeer
  • Eastern Wood-pewee
  • Northern Cardinal
  • Common Tern
  • Blue Jay
  • Gray Catbird
  • Barn and Tree Swallows
  • Eastern Tufted Titmouse
  • Carolina Wren

and probably many others!

See you in the Fall!!
